background
• toronto born, vancouver raised; mark is the son of a _ and a homemaker. life is cushy and comfortable, even if mark spends a lot of his free time by himself while his family entertained all sorts of people. their life is idyllic and, admittedly, a bit boring. mark doesn't complain much.
( mark isn't a troublesome child by any stretch of the word, but he's the result of an affair his father had with another woman. his step-mother sees him as a break of trust, not as a son. )
• mark's school career is normal. if he had to be more specific and tell you all the details, he would say that maybe he should (and could) have done better. he's always been more studious than his older half-brother, which his father always stated was a good trait to have. however, it fuels a bit of competition between the two kids. while he was relatively unphased by his siblings desire to come out on top, mark found himself wondering if things could be difference.
( his name is jaehyun. his biological mother's other son. his other half-brother. mark doesn't expect him ever coming to visit, but those few fleeting days were composed of some of his favorite memories. it was sad when jaehyun had to leave and go back home. mark began to understand that the world wasn't as cold as he had initially thought. )
• being the stereotypical computer nerd in high school didn't help him too much socially, but at least he had an idea what to pursue for a career when it came to making life decisions. thankfully, his father didn't push him into business (and his stepmother didn't have input of any sort) so he was free to do essentially whatever. he applied to korea university among a few other schools, and with some encouragement from his friends, he went for it. he ends up in a groups of new friends he's comfortable being around, and he even ends up in a fraternity.
facts
• half-brother of jaehyun
• most fluent in english, but sometimes he slips up. korean is his second best language, and he's studying chinese for school.
• bit of an introvert, prefers small groups, studies the best alone. but he's reaching out more and more as time goes on.
• that being said: he can be a bit awkward. like, very awkward.
• likes sports, but doesn't pursue them beyond just an outdoors activity. same goes for subjects like music. he's a fan, that's about it.
